Model Kids

Zutano makes some of the cutest clothes in the universe for children up to age 6! Seriously, they are so adorable that I almost want to have more babies just to dress them in those sweet outfits! Our kids have been Zutano models since they were little whipper-snappers: Baxter started his debut in their catologs when he was 10 months old and Summer when she was a toddler. Zutano owners, Michael and Uli, have the most beautiful home and outrageously cool company headquarters on a dirt road waaaaay out in Cabot, Vermont. It’s always so fun and low key! I can’t imagine what an ordinary modeling session is like, but I'm pretty sure that most don't begin with the company owner/photographer treating the kids to a yummy snack of blueberries and macaroons! If only they would start making clothes for kids 7 and up....or I could keep my kids from growing....

Michael has an incredible gift for children's photography! I'm a huge fan of his!!

Uli watches as Baxter and his new pal have their picture taken.

Notice the photograph above Summer's head! Look a little familiar?

Zutano even has adorable cars, but they're not for sale.

A Sunny Vermont Weekend

With all the rain we've had this summer, a sunny weekend just seems to be almost a surprise. Kelley and Brian were blessed by the Vermont sunshine as they married a little over a week ago at one of my favorite places, Edson Hill Manor, located in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Kelley, Brian and I met a couple of days before for a very fun engagement session, where we romped around corn fields and in creeks, so we had a great opportunity to relax and play. For wedding day, Kelley had spent the previous months collecting photos from their lives from childhood all the way up to the engagement. She framed all these photos with gorgeous and unique frames, and then displayed them throughout the Inn on tables, fireplace mantles, and anywhere there was space! This incredible attention to detail gave their wonderful families and all the guests a great opportunity to gaze through the years of their lives. I wish them all the best as they embark on their married life together!!

Summer Fun

On Saturday, the kids and I attended birthday party number five for our little friend, Gabby. Here a few party pics from our fun day…

Cooling Off at Otter Creek

I recently met up with Whitney and Eric down in Eric’s hometown of Middlebury. It was bright and sunny so we all agreed that Otter Creek would be the perfect place for their engagement photo session.

An amusing thing happened at the creek…Whitney and Eric had climbed onto a rock and just as they started getting cuddly a very friendly dog headed down our way to see what we were up to. Without any prompting, he waded into the stream and leapt up onto the rock with them. We all got a good laugh out of it because they looked like a happy little family. I think a dog might be somewhere in their future.

I will be photographing their autumn wedding in the beautiful city of Burlington and it promises be a spectacular day!

A Dream Come True

A little over a week ago, Luke and Nicole tied the knot at the Saint Francis Xavier Church in Winooski. Nicole told me during the engagement session that when she was a little girl she dreamed of getting married at this church someday.

Her day finally arrived with a mix of sunny skies and crazy thunder showers. Amazingly the rain would stop just in time for outdoor photos. After the ceremony, Nicole and Luke, the 17 guys and gals in the wedding party, the mother and father of the bride, and me were transported by this funky limo/bus to the reception spot in Swanton. Everyone had too much fun on the way there!

Over 300 guests greeted us in the most beautifully decorated barn I have ever seen. And these people all knew how to enjoy themselves!! I was so thrilled to be a part of the day!! I truly enjoyed working with you, Luke and Nicole, and all your family and friends and I wish you a long and happy life together!!

Strawberry Fields Forever

Today was the quintessential Vermont summer day: not too hot or humid, big white puffy clouds floating by and there doesn't seem to be a care in the world. Perfect!

The kids and I went strawberry picking with some of our favorite pals then checked off another favorite summertime tradition, Joe’s Snack Bar. It is so famous around here that a local writer and illustrator wrote a children’s book about it called “Where Does Joe Go?”

A Festive Fourth

Our darling little town of Williston really knows how to celebrate our nation’s birthday and attending its events is a beloved family tradition. We all really look forward to socializing with community neighbors while the kids run around like crazy! From the 2nd through the 4th the town holds bike, scooter and running races; an ice cream social at the town green while the town band plays; a very colorful parade; a frog jumping contest; and, of course, a traditional fireworks display. For the last several years I had to abandon my family to run around photographing all the fun for the town paper. Since my days at the weekly paper are behind me now, I could hang out with my family and friends snapping photos without gathering caption information. However, most of the kids in Williston associate me with the newspaper so I can’t help but laugh when 5 year olds ask me…hey lady, can you take a picture of me for the paper? Too funny!

Summer met Hannah in the hospital the day she was born and they've been great pals since!Baxter snaps of photo of his pals Conrad and Caleb at the ice cream social.
Hannah, Summer, the big white rabbit and Riley lead "The bunny hop" around the town bandstand.
Baxter was traumatized on the way home when his blue balloon flew out the car window; good thing it is immortalized in this photo. Life IS good!!

It's all about the candy for Summer and her best friend.

Yummy toes!!
Hooray USA!!
If you look closely there is a little self-portrait in there...

A Grand Evening

On Friday evening I traveled to the Grand Isle Lake House to photograph a pre-wedding shindig for my new friends, Beth and Phil, from Boston. All afternoon there were torrential downpours, but lucky for all of us the evening ended up being perfectly beautiful! These people really know how to have fun! Adorable kids were running around everywhere, folks were dancing to the zydeco tunes of Mango Jam, and sports fans were swinging badminton racquets, croquet mallets and bocce balls on the lawn. I was so happy to be there!!

Beth and Phil were married at the Lake House on Saturday and if I could’ve been two places at once I would have loved to document the wedding festivities too. However, I spent all day Saturday at another grand celebration for Nicole and Luke, which you will soon see some highlights of…

Congratulations to Beth and Phil, and cute little Gareth too, on your happy union! I am sure your wedding day was spectacular!!
