Lynn's and Christian's Wonderful Winter Wedding!

Lynn and Christian were blissfully married last Saturday at a gorgeous old church in Vergennes. It was our first wedding of the New Year and it could not have been on a more beautiful winter day!

For the group photos, we drove up to the Robert Frost Interpretive Trail in Middlebury, which honors Mr. Frost with his poetry mounted on signs along the path. We finished our session in record time because it was beyond chilly! Lynn & Christian are all about the outdoors and adventure, so we had an absolute blast and it was certainly worth the frozen extremities to photograph this adorable couple and their wonderful wedding party on the trails.

There was plenty of time to thaw out at the super cozy Waybury Inn during Lynn and Christian’s post wedding festivities.

Enjoy some of my favorite images of the day…

Christian sent Lynn a bouquet of daisies (her favorite!) before the ceremony with this note attached...how romantic!!

Lynn's friend, the amazing Anais Mitchell, performed during the ceremony.

Hey...that's my brother!

Forty years ago, while I was just barely a bun in the oven, my parents and 3-year-old brother, Loren, were in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park with 10,000 groovy folks celebrating life and listening to poetry and music at the "Human Be-in".

I'm not sure of the details--I wasn't born yet, remember?-- but somehow my brother ended up in the arms of famous beatnik poet, Allen Ginsberg. The moment was documented by a photographer and popped up a couple days ago in the San Francisco Chronicle, in a story celebrating the 40th anniversary of the event.

The full story, entitled "... with flowers in your gray hair" (clever!) can be found here.

A Peaceful New Year

Every night I sneak in to my kids rooms to kiss their sweet little cheeks and make sure they’re snug in their beds.

It’s a wonderful reminder that no matter how crazy the world is, there is some peace on earth.

I hope you all have happiness, health and peace in the new year!
