Holiday Cheer with the VPP

Our family hosted the annual Vermont Professional Photographer's Holiday Party on Sunday. It was a very festive and cozy gathering of some of the members and their families. A few of the highlights of this year's party were the live pianist, the pomegranate martinis and the gift exchange. I can't remember who took home the Chia Shrek pet, but I'm sure they are enjoying it thoroughly!

Thanks to all of you who were able to attend. We had a great time!

Enjoy some of my favorite snapshots from the day...

Home for the Holidays

Happy Holidays!! I hope your holiday season has been filled with peace, love, and laughter!

We have been non-stop since the weekend with fun and cozy get-togethers with our closest friends and favorite neighbors. But I cherish Christmas morning when it's just our family. It's so relaxing and peaceful and the kids are overwhelmed with excitement. It's magical!

Being invited to one of our neighbor's gingerbread house decorating parties has been one of the highlights of our holidays this year. It was the 25th year for this special family tradition, so it was an honor to be included. Baxter and Summer were unbelievably focused for 2 hours and I was impressed with how beautifully their houses turned out.

Patty + Pete's Fabulous Wedding Festivities!

To wrap up our wonderful wedding season, Andy and I photographed the wedding of one of the most fun couples of all times...Patty and Pete! They were happily married at Christ the King church in Rutland and celebrated their union at the Mountain Top Inn in nearby Chittenden.

It was a destination wedding for the newlyweds and most of their friends and family had never been to Vermont. Unfortunately, our fine state greeted them one of the darkest, rainiest weekends I can remember. Fortunately, these people make their own sunshine with their joie de vivre--their cheerful enjoyment of life!

I think Andy and I giggled through their entire reception. I thought the highlight of the night was the collection of mullet wigs and assorted hats that were so fashionably seen on guests young and old. However, when the Mountain Top staff dragged out a giant ladder, I knew the best was yet to come. Pete's family has a unique tradition of cracking an egg from atop a ladder with the target being the mouth of the person below. Even Patty came out of hiding to play along. It was hilarious!

Enjoy some of my favorite moments from their amazing day!

The gorgeous flower arrangements were created by Nancy from A Schoolhouse Garden.

Lisa + Jason e-session!

I met up with super sweet Lisa & Jason in Middlebury on a chilly November day for their engagement session. We had to thaw out with some cocoa at a little coffee house part way through, because my fingers were frozen solid. No whining out of these two lovebirds though, they were too busy laughing and playing, I don't think they even noticed the cold. We ended up staying out until sunset and we really had a fantastic time!
We'll be photographing their wedding in May at the Old Tavern in Grafton, Vermont, and I know it will be a spectacular day!

Kim + Jeff's Wedding!

Kim and Jeff are one of my favorite couples of all times. They always seem to be happy and smiling and they are so crazy about each other. I photographed their fun fall engagement session last year and was really excited to finally photograph their big day!

Kim is the queen of details and has an great eye for color. She had so many great things planned for their wedding reception at The Ponds at Bolton Valley. What kid, young or old, wouldn't love to scoop their own goodies from a candy shop, and how cute is it to have a cross-word puzzle of Kim and Jeff trivia at each place setting.

Photographs were one of Kim's big priorities for the day, so it was wonderful that they planned lots of time for fun photos! I am so happy to share some of my favorites from their beautiful day!

Bena + Christopher's Beautiful Barnard Wedding!

Bena and Christopher were married on a beautiful, crisp autumn day in the darling town of Barnard, Vermont. They chose Barnard for their wedding and festivities because it's the very place Christopher popped the big question.
Bena and Christopher decided they wanted a stress free day, so they saw each other before the ceremony. I must say it was a luxury cruising around town taking fun and relaxed portraits with little concern for time. We returned with plenty of time for their ceremony at one of the cutest little churches I've seen. Following the group photos we headed for The Barnard Inn for their big celebration.
Bena and Christopher and their friends and family were wonderful, fun-loving people to be around and we felt like family by the end of the day.
Here are a handful of my favs...
