My Citroën Rendezvous
Yesterday, I was driving home from a Vermont Life assignment in the very quaint town of Bristol, Vermont, when not one, not two, but THREE Citroën 2CVs passed me on a little country road. Here in Vermont, unless you are watching a parade, you don't see many unusual or older cars. So I flipped when I saw those crazy cool cars!! I turned right around and zoomed to catch up. At a traffic light, I pulled up beside the last one and begged them to pull over. Of course, because they are obviously cool people, they obliged.
Why would I be so excited over some funny little French cars??
My very bestest childhood friend, Jenny, and her fabulous family (the Allens) had a collection of various Citroëns. Even in California, they were considered eccentric, which I thought was so awesome!
Fresh out of high school, I biked around Europe with the Allens, and one of our destinations was a Citroën rally in Cheltenham, England. Hundreds of fun and funky cars in one place. So I have a special place in my heart for them! Plus, the 2CV is a car ahead of its time...they get something like 60 miles to the gallon!!

This group from Quebec were headed for a big rally in Saratoga Springs, NY. It will be a 60th birthday celebration for the 2CV.
beep-beep!!
