Happy Halloween!

Our pals, the Pasley's, have been inviting us along for trick-or-treating fun in our neighborhood for several years. It's quite a hike between houses in our hood, so those Pasleys cart us around in the back of their pick up truck (very slowly, so don't worry!), complete with haybails and glowing orange lights, so the kids can maximize the amount of loot and make the journey more fun for all. (In other words less walking = less whining.)
This year our friend Luke and his kids joined in the festivities.

Jose Villa Workshop

I recently attended a workshop at the very beautiful Riverside Farm with one of the top wedding photographers on the planet, Jose Villa.

Jose shared his passion for life and photography, his magic and his great sense of humor. I enjoyed hanging out with my friends, John Williams and Elise Donoghue, and met some new friends too.

The workshop included a model flown in from NYC and a make-up artist, Britany with the T.E.A.M Hair and Make-up, and a flower bouquet from Stems Winchester .

For more information about Jose Villa workshops CLICK HERE!

Me and my new pal, Jose Villa!
It was raining, so we started the workshop indoors. John got a little hungry, so he snacked on his pen. ;-)
I met the super adorable Elise at NEIPP earlier this year.Jose teaching his magic.

This makes me giggle...
Our model got a little chilly.

It was much cozier inside, so we took advantage of the nice window light.
Jose grabbed my camera and snapped these last two photos...

Thanks Jose and I can't wait to see you in Las Vegas!!

On a perfectly sunny day in August, Kerry + Dan joined their lives together at The Old Lantern in Charlotte, surrounded by their loved ones. It was a family affair as they each had three children and now they have six, oh, and one silly poodle named Daisy. Imagine how much fun holidays will be...I hope they have a long dining room table!

Coming Full Circle

I recently photographed my first maternity session for one of my favorite couples ever, Rebecca + Gregg. A couple years back I photographed their intimate sheep farm wedding here in Vermont and a couple weeks later, their NYC wedding. About 7 months ago I received a call from Rebecca and she asked if I would consider photographing a maternity session. Of course I was delighted to give it a whirl!!

I know I am going out of order here, but I think their baby will be born any day now, so I wanted to get these up in honor of their impending arrival.

I am thrilled for them and I know they will be wonderful parents!!!

R + G: I had so much fun with you two and your adorable belly and I can't wait to meet your beautiful new baby!!

In Mass

Andy, the kids and I took off for a long weekend to Cape Cod last Friday. Our primary reason for the trip was to photograph the awesome wedding festivities on Friday and Saturday for the photo editor of the Denver Post, Meghan, and her new husband, Kevin.
We decided to take the kids along and stay through Monday in Provincetown to get our beach fix. However, Hurricane Kyle decided to rain on our parade all weekend.
We did get in a little play time on the beach on Sunday and then decided that we'd paddle upstream to Danvers, Mass, where there was rumored to be an indoor water park. (Jaquelin H., if you are reading this, please do not be upset that we didn't call, but we didn't have your phone number and were very sad about it!)
On Monday, the kids voted that we should check out Salem and learn about the witch trials, so that's what we did. It was a bewitching place and learned that there are a few sites that are historical, but the rest are pure entertainment, so if you visit, be sure to stop by the town's information office first.
Enjoy some snapshots from our family fun time...

taunting the waves...
the waves' revenge.

my Bickie-Boo

Tourists came to see the big waves from Kyle, but the sea was very quiet on Sunday morning. The calm before the storm, perhaps?
fun stuff in Salem
I love reflections!
We visited "The Witch House" and learned that a woman with our namesake was the first accused witch to be hung.
We also visited the "Witch Dungeon Museum" for a live re-enactment of the witch trials and a tour of the dungeons where the accused witches were held.
The tour guide informed us that the actual dungeon was destroyed and all that remained was this one beam. It is said to be good luck for women to rub the beam, so Andy had to capture me in action. It was "lucky" that he caught it because he had no flash and it was very dark down there. (And quite musty and creepy too.)
cute!
I liked this logo!
We followed this red line around town to see the sites. I think it's nicknamed "the profit line".
Colorful local sodapop.
Spoooooky!

My Summer love!!

The wrought iron fences were very photogenic.

p.s. come back soon for my first maternity session, lots-o-fab weddings and fun e-sessions!! xo
