"Ladies & Gentlemen, gals and lads, don your fancy garb and
come witness Mario the Magician and his lovely assistant,
Kathryn Elizabeth, as they perform their greatest feat yet!"

Their wedding had it all: style, charm, emotion, character and characters. I felt like I was in an old black + white film and was truly disappointed when the evening was over. Fortunately, we captured it for you to enjoy....

p.s. Andy toned their whole slideshow in black + white to give it the vintage feel.

Flowers: Flowers in Season
Cake: Mirabelles
Band: Starline Rhythm Boys
D.J.: Top Hat Entertainment

From the moment I heard about Carrie + Ian's wedding from planning extraordinaire, Katey Gordon, I knew it would be an unforgettable wedding event. I met up with them soon thereafter at their home in Huntington and I was immediately smitten with them, so I was thrilled when they chose us to be their photographers!
I loved Carrie + Ian’s story… they wanted to move away from the crazy life in the city and find a quiet home in Vermont, get married and start working on their happily ever after. So they invited their closest friends and dearest family to their new home and had a grand wedding celebration. This wedding was one of the highlights of the season and I am so excited to share the photos with you!

let's start with the dress...
this handsome guy had his eye on me all morning.
Ian presented Carrie with a beautiful painting of their home, so Andy took advantage of it.

Meghan + Kevin's Cape Cod Wedding

Event Coordinator: The Perfect Plan aka Connie Nye Clark
Ceremony: St. Peters Church in Provincetown, Mass.
Reception: Truro Adventures in Truro, Mass.
Catering: Eat Your Heart Out Caterers
Hair + Makeup: A family friend
Flowers: Flowers by Mary in Provincetown
Cake: Meghan's aunt
Band: Jon Frattasio

Our family drove down in some wild weather to photograph Meghan + Kevin's beautiful wedding weekend in Truro and Provincetown, Massachusetts at the end of September. It wasn't just any wild weather, we were there the same weekend that Hurricane Kyle decided to pass by too.
I was extra nervous to photograph Meghan's wedding, as she happens to be a photo editor for the Denver Post. Once I met her, however, my fears melted away, as she was one of the sweetest people imaginable! And Kevin was such a gentleman too. In fact, the whole family and wedding party were as nice as could be too.
Since it was a destination wedding, Meghan's mom hired an event coordinator and she was a dream to work with. The weekend went by so smoothly and although she wore many hats, she was always smiling.
So without further ado, I would like to share a few of my very favorites from that special weekend...

the day begins...

Meghan has the most sparkly eyes!
The adorable bears were made in honor of Meghan's grandparents and of course I had to photograph them!
peek-a-boo!
We had a little time for some pre-ceremony photos for Meghan + Kevin and their MVPs. Fortunately, the weather cooperated with our plan.

Meghan's dad helped her into the RR.
I love this photo of Meghan as we head to P-town for the ceremony.

We really lucked out when we returned to Truro for the reception, as there was a small break between storms.
We took the happy couple for a few minutes of relaxed portraits.
My favorite!!

The view from the bluff.
Meghan's parents gave an awesome toast.

A little serenade.
Things got a little crazy just as we were leaving, these people really know how to have a good time!!

M+K: We absolutely loved spending the weekend with you and your loved ones. It was such an honor to be your photographers. Congratulations on your love and your marriage!! xox

Andy and I had a little role reversal for Katie + Nathan's wedding. I got to play second shooter for him, so he met up with Katie at Salon Salon for the getting ready photos and I got to document Nathan and his guys.

After the initial surprise of Nathan greeting me in his boxers, I really enjoyed documenting the guys getting ready. Nathan made it easy for me because he is so completely silly. :)

A touching moment with Katie and her mom.
Katie + Nathan opted for a first look and I've never witnessed a more dramatic reaction from a groom. It was so sweet!

Next, the happy couple and the two of us jumped into getaway golfcarts and headed up to the top of the course for some photos with sweeping views of Mt. Mansfield.

Megan drove to the ceremony in a gorgeous vintage car. Complete with fuzzy dice.
Fortunately, it stopped raining when we arrived so we could snap a few fun photos with the top down. This is one of my all time favorite photos.
I love the way Bhaskar is looking at Megan.
The weather was iffy, so the ceremony was held inside the coach barn. It made for some dramatic lighting.
The door framed them so perfectly!!
Andy's angle of the ceremony...

Bhaskar's mother, father and sister flew in from Nepal. Megan and Bhaskar will have a second ceremony there at some point.

The list of Megan's wonderful qualities was so long that the paper almost ran out the door. :)
We had to sneak out for a few minutes to take advantage of the beautiful sunset.
Another one of my favorites of all times!

I didn't take Megan for a cake smasher, so it was good that I'm always ready. I love how the crumbs are flying!

A few more raindrops fell and this little guy caught some of them...
I think this was about the last "normal" ceremony photo...(The gorgeous trellis and other beautiful flower arrangements were created by the amazing Nancy Murray with A Schoolhouse Garden.)
And the rest were a bit unconventional :-)...
How much do you love the guy with the chair?!?
The expressions were priceless!
The completely fabulous Janna saved the day and my camera with her little umbrella and her huge smile. Andy was saved by Chelsea, the resort's wedding planner.

Still a little soggy, but blissfully happy!

Chelsea + Matt's Shelburne Farms Wedding!

About a month before Chelsea and Matt's wedding I received the sweetest letter from Chelsea's mom, Katy. In the letter she said, "The tradition here in the South is to bury a bottle of bourbon in the back yard exactly a month ahead of the wedding, and exactly on the hour of the wedding and you are (hopefully!) assured of a good day weather wise on the wedding day! I dutifully buried a perfectly good full bottle of it so we are keeping our fingers crossed, bourbon buried and prayers said."
I don't know if it was the bourbon, the crossed fingers, the prayers or the combination of all three, but the day was spectacular!! But not just in the weather department, it was perfect in all other areas too. These were the nicest people Andy and I could imagine working with and they made us feel like special guests at their wedding.
It was nearly impossible to narrow the photos down for the blog because I had too many favorites!!
Enjoy!
Chelsea and her girls prepared for the day at her family's camp on Lake Champlain.
Andy was here.
Pretty shoes.
Beautiful bride! (future brides take note...Erin from Paragon Design in Shelburne is wonderful to work with!)

I love this moment as Chelsea's sister, Meg, reads the toast she prepared to her mom, Katy.
Katy fixes a button on the dress.

The handsome groom gets ready.
Wow!!
Chelsea's sister had all of the guests sign this table runner and then she planned to embroider their names. What a thoughtful gift for her sister and brother-in-law!!
A kiss from dad.
This is what Chelsea and her sister, Meg, do when they're excited!
The ceremony was held at the Shelburne United Methodist Church.

Just married!!
I loved the fun ties, so Andy put together a montage of 4 of them for the slideshow. Chelsea wrote to say how much she enjoyed trying to figure out who they belonged to, so this one is for you, Chels!! xo
This guy made surprise appearances throughout the day.
The stylish wedding party!!
The dynamic duo of Gwen + Minner Hobbs of Flowers in Season did an amazing job with the flowers!! The colors were vibrant and beautiful!!
So romantic...

Heading back to the cocktail hour...
Totally feroche!!
The toasts were lively!
I adore this moment...
Let me tell you about this moment...Chelsea's dad was giving a toast and was expressing gratitude to the people who made the day special and suddenly he directed everyone's attention to ME. I must have turned 3 shades of red, but luckily it was dark in the room. I was completely touched!! Thank you, Chal!!
Chelsea's sister gave an awesome toast too!
The newlyweds prepare for their first dance. How funny is it that Matt is stretching?!

The band was CRAZY fun!!
A perfect evening for a perfect day.

C + M: It was a true joy and honor to be a part of your amazing day! You and your family have a special place in our hearts!!

Sarah & Aaron's Wedding at the Bates!!

Sarah and Aaron were married in a beautiful flower garden before their closest friends and dearest families and Cody (who you'll meet in a moment) at the Bates Mansion in Cavendish, Vermont. The rain this summer has been a challenge to work around, but fortunately, the skies waited to open up until just after the ceremony finished. Very lucky!
This extra special couple and their guests could have cared less about the weather; they enjoyed every minute of the joyous celebration!!

The estate is so beautiful and was the perfect spot to host their guests for a fantastic Vermont wedding weekend.

Sarah started her day with some pampering at The Castle Resort & Spa in Cavendish, just down the road from the Bates Mansion.
Andy met up with Aaron and the boys for their pre-wedding adventures.

We took advantage of the slight break from the storm to do some relaxed portraits.

The gorgeous girls!
We snapped a few photos of the boys in their very dapper seersucker suits as the rain started up again, then it was off to the reception.
How could I not include a French girl twirling in a polka-dotted dress!

Pam + Tony's Fab Farm Wedding!

I had been so excited to photograph Pam and Tony's wedding in Poultney, Vermont, since the day we met this darling couple and her parents last year. These people have a great sense of humor and are so sweet and genuine and they were so enthusiastic about the wedding and getting their family farm all gussied up for the big day! I drove down in May to see the lay of the land and there were infinite possibilities for amazing backdrops for photos.
Their wedding day finally arrived along with some seriously wild weather, but just before the ceremony, the skies cleared up and it was amazing for the rest of the day! And fortunately, Pam had some super cute galoshes to squish through the mud that the rain left behind.
Enjoy a few of my personal favorites!...

the day begins...
I adore this photo of Pam!
Pam prepared for the day at her Grandmother's farm house, just down the road from her family's home.
The real way to a girl's heart...

the very handsome Tony
Dana from Fresh was responsible for the gorgeous flowers.
A thundershower started as we quickly finished up the pre-wedding photos. Andy caught me in action. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do...

Pam and her BFF avoid the puddles...
I love this moment as the sun makes an appearance.
Tony and his best man are seriously skilled on the guitar.
Pam's family specialize in beautiful eyes!
How much do you love this?!
A cute little detail...
Pam is very close with her father...

Some sweet ceremony moments...

Just married!!

Christina + Steve's Wedding!

Christina and Steve were blissfully married in June at one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Inn at Shelburne Farms. Surrounded by loved ones, it was such an intimate and joyous celebration.
It was such an honor to be witness to the joining of these two very special families!
Here are a handful of my most favorite photos from the day.

When was the last time you saw or heard a lute? If you want one for your wedding Tom Vitzthum is your guy!
I loved how the family surrounded Steve and Chris during the ceremony.
It was an emotionally packed ceremony!

Luis + Jill's panoramic wedding!

Luis and Jill were happily married on the top of Cannon Mountain, New Hampshire, on a perfect day in May. (Yes, I'm behind on the blog!) Being the outdoor enthusiasts that they are, they started the day with a bike ride together. Appropriate because I'm quite sure they first met on a bike ride.
Jill and one of her B.F.F.s take off from the beauty salon and head towards the Lovett's Inn to finish getting ready.
Because the bike ride wasn’t enough exercise for the day, Luis hiked up to the ceremony location with some friends and family. Andy rode the tram up and hiked down to meet them as they made their way to the top. Exercise and photography combined...this was a wedding that Andy was made for!

I love this reflection in a picture as Jill prepared for the day.
Andy and I photographed this at the exact same moment in time. I think we had a mind meld.
all the finishing touches...

Just beautiful!
Jill was one of the happiest brides in the history of weddings!
The very handsome groom...

I'm pretty sure the fish-eye lens was created for moments like this...

Just married!!
Jill's father is a photographer, so I just had to document this moment.

Following the ceremony, I followed the newlyweds up to the lookout tower and I was thrilled to witness and capture these moments...

Jill is very close with her grandfather and I was wishing for a tissue when I saw this moment...
Photography runs on both sides of the family. Here is a photo of Luis's brother taking a portrait of the couple. I love it!
the place was swarming with photographers!!

Heading to the reception...
A little attitude at the bon fire...

What a spectacular day!!

Lisa & Jason's Wedding!

Lisa + Jason were married on the most fabulous day in May at the Old Tavern Inn in the very charming town of Grafton. The wedding basically took over this tiny Vermont town and it was such a perfect setting. Lisa and Jason are so head-over-heels in love and it was such an honor to take part in their beautiful day!

This wedding favor should win an award for coolness! Lisa + Jason submitted an e-session photo to Jones Pure Cane Sodas.
The boys make the get-away car nice and sparkly.
Floral Artistry was here...
The gorgeous gown.
Thankfully, there was no need for these cuties!
and speaking of cute...
The very handsome groom.

Steve + Sarah's Wedding!

Steve and Sarah couldn't have had a more gorgeous day for their recent wedding. It was a spectacular day filled with love and laughter.
Sarah is so sweet and my very favorite kind of bride...the kind that wants to spend lots of time taking photos. Fortunately, Steve was game for it too!
I had an extremely hard time narrowing these down, but here are some of my favs!

I met up with Sarah at Mirror Mirror in Burlington where she was having her make-up done.
Fun mirrors!
She was all smiles!
Steve was preparing for the day at his place in Burlington and Andy was there to grab some nice moments.
The Hilton overlooking Lake Champlain, was just a block away, so she dressed and put on the finishing touches there.
The ceremony was at the stunning St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Burlington.

The newlyweds!!

Following some family formals, the wedding party packed into the limo and headed down to the Burlington waterfront for some fun photos.

Later, we all met up again at The Old Lantern in Charlotte for an evening of celebration.
...and some more photos in the amazing light.

I love this one!
Sarah and her father had one of the most fun father/daughter dances I've seen! And Steve and his mother had one of the sweetest!

Congratulations Sarah and Steve!! xo

Jennifer + Scott's Wedding!

Scott and Jenn’s wedding marked the beginning of our much anticipated wedding season. I always feel a bit nervous for the first wedding (can you believe it?), but I was immediately at ease when I met up with Jenn and her MVP’s at her parents’ home in Essex Junction. Jenn was incredibly relaxed and so full of enthusiasm for her big day. I knew it was going to be spectacular! And of course it was!!

I love this moment as Jenn arrives at the church!
I was wishing for a tissue when I turned my camera from Jenn and her father walking down the aisle and saw Scott's eyes.

The ring bearer was the perfect little gentleman.
A fish-eye view of the ceremony.
Happy guests wait their turn to greet the newlyweds.

Scott's uncle owns a collection of very cool cars, so the wedding party traveled to the reception at The Ponds, in style!
The next 2 images illustrate the beauty of having 2 photographers. Same fun moment...2 perspectives.

Jenn was the most fun-loving and adventurous bride! It was almost cold enough to snow and she was all smiles and laughter through the photo session. Scott is a big nordic skier so he digs the chilly weather too. Of course, guys are lucky because they get to wear jackets. :-)
The wedding party were very good sports as they smiled through chattering teeth!
The happy couple!!

These rings capture Jenn + Scott's love for the outdoors perfectly! Can you see the mountains?
How cute is this moment? I love the big belt and shoes!
Heading in for the evening of festivities.
A beautiful moment between Jenn and her father.
Only in Vermont...
The receiving end of the garter toss. This character had me cracking up all evening.
Jenn and Scott had this fun illustration drawn up at a local fair. I just love originality!
