E-Session: Brandi + Marty

I'd like to introduce Marty and Brandi, the king and queen of adorable! We ran around at Shelburne Farms recently for their engagement session.

It started out as a perfectly sunny evening and just as we were going to head over to the water, these dark, ominous clouds rolled in and it started pouring rain!! We hid in the car for part of the storm and since we happened to be parked in Heidi and Ave's driveway when the storm broke loose, they invited us in. (Because that is how totally awesome those two are!)

During our visit, Ave insisted that Marty have a beer to help him through the rest of the session and that just cracked me up! And here is a little secret...when the rain passed, and we headed down to the lake, Marty was all smiles. So guys, take it from Ave, a beer helps!

Andy and I are totally excited to photograph their Adirondack wedding at the end of the month in Lake Placid!!

E-Session: Kristen + Garrett

I drove around in circles a bit, but I tracked down the super-fun Kristen and Garrett at his uncle's camp on Harvey's Lake near Barnet, Vermont, for their e-session in July.

This area has special significance because Garrett spent childhood summers on the lake. It was also where he asked his soulmate Kristen to join her life with his. For their session they wanted to follow the footsteps of that very special day.

Oh, and Garrett mentioned a fascinating tidbit about Harvey's Lake, so I googled it and found the following on the town of Barnet's website (complete with spelling error):
Harvey's Lake was the lake that famous French oceanograher Jacques Cousteau first experienced underwater diving. Cousteau visited Harvey's Lake as a child. Jacques-Yves Cousteau died on Wednesday, June 25, 1997. He was considered by many to be "the father of the enviornmental movement".

From the camp we drove up to the hiking trails in Peacham where Garrett brought Kristen for a picnic and his top-secret proposal. The path was kind of dark to start, but it opened up to this spectacular vista!

Fun with Joe & Meagan

For quite some time, when couples ask if I have any new ideas for e-session locations I have suggested that we meet at Ben & Jerry's and nobody had ever taken the bait. Well I finally caught the perfect couple to meet me there. Meagan and Joe were so much fun and seriously funny! There is simply no end to their silliness, love for each other and zest for life. I had to throw out so many blurry photos because I was laughing so much. Good thing I took an overabundance of photos.
I was giggling all over again while looking through their session photos and can't wait for their wedding in July!!

Katie + Adam's E-session

I met up with the super adorable Katie and Adam recently at Shelburne Farms. I was immediately smitten with them! They were so much fun to work with and didn't complain once...even as I had them sitting in a soggy field and smooching in a flower bush. Added to the fact that it was chilly out Katie was running around in a sleeveless top. Fortunately, she had Adam to keep her warm!

Shelburne Farms

Lisa + Jason e-session!

I met up with super sweet Lisa & Jason in Middlebury on a chilly November day for their engagement session. We had to thaw out with some cocoa at a little coffee house part way through, because my fingers were frozen solid. No whining out of these two lovebirds though, they were too busy laughing and playing, I don't think they even noticed the cold. We ended up staying out until sunset and we really had a fantastic time!
We'll be photographing their wedding in May at the Old Tavern in Grafton, Vermont, and I know it will be a spectacular day!

Fun with Jeff and Amanda!

I met up with Jeff and Amanda at the Shelburne Museum for their e-session this fall. I think we spent most of our time laughing and some of the time taking photos. There were a zillion photo opportunities at the museum, so it was probably a good thing that we got there with only an hour left before it closed. As it was, we were sneaking around at closing for a quick photo on the merry-go-round. (Shhhh....don't tell!)

Andy and I will be photographing "Jeffanda's" wedding next summer at Amanda's family home on Lake Champlain. I know it will be a spectacular day in every way, and bonus for us because their circle of loved ones is AWESOME! We photographed her cousin Heidi's beautiful wedding this last summer. In fact, Amanda is quite the talented photographer and she captured some amazing moments at Heidi's wedding too. Making friendships with couples is my very favorite part of what I do!

Sarah + Steve's e-session!

I recently had the fortune of hanging out in Stowe with the super sweet Sarah and Steve.
They will be married on May 10th, 2008 in Burlington at the beautiful St. Joseph Co-Cathedral.
Their reception will be held at the quaint and cozy Old Lantern in Charlotte.

It was so fitting that we met in Stowe, a place famous for its skiing, because Sarah and Steve fell in love on a ski trip with friends in Lake Tahoe.
No strangers to adventure either, I read on their wedding blog that Steve proposed while they were skiing down the legendary Tuckerman’s Ravine.

Well there wasn’t any snow to play in, but we lucked out with a gorgeous early-fall day for our session.

Bena & Chris e-Session!

Bena, Chris and I met up on a gorgeous September day for their engagement session down in Middlebury. We discovered some awesome places down by the Otter Creek and had a blast bebopping around town.

They were so much fun--and so much in love--and we even capped off the day with a visit to the local scoop shop.

Robyn + Keith e-session!

After postponing Robyn and Keith's engagement session a couple of times due to uncooperative weather, we hit the jackpot with a gorgeous evening out at Shelburne Farms recently. It was so fun capturing their playful spirit that we stayed until the sun went down.
Robyn and Keith are getting married next month at a church in Waitsfield with their reception at the beautiful Round Barn Inn and we'll be thrilled to document their day!!

Jessica & Josh e-session!

I met up with Jess and Josh on the beautiful University of Vermont campus recently. The campus has a special significance to them because they met while attending school there a few years ago.
They were such sports while I dragged them from one end of the campus to the other. And speaking of sports...Josh is the head coach of the UVM Men's Ice Hockey Club. What a cool job!
They're such a darling couple and can't you just see how crazy they are for each other?
We'll be photographing their wedding next month at the Stoweflake Resort in Stowe.

I met up with Heidi and Ave at Shelburne Farms recently for a fantastic engagement session. They're getting married next weekend and we're so thrilled to be photographing their wedding!

Kelly + Josh e-session

I met up with super adorable Kelly and Josh in Burlington recently for their engagement session. We had a blast running around near Battery Park, which overlooks Lake Champlain. It was really fun getting to know them and hearing about their wedding at one of the most beautiful places to be married in Vermont, The Round Barn Farm.

They'll be tying the knot on August 3rd and Andy and I are so excited to photograph their wedding festivities!

Moira + Briggs

I traveled to NYC last week for a couple of days of work and fun. On Tuesday afternoon I met up with an awesome couple, Moira and Briggs, for their engagement session in Central Park. The weather couldn't have been better and the park was in full bloom with flowers of every color. We had so much fun running around the park snapping pictures. I am really looking forward to hanging out with them again on the 27th at their wedding here in Vermont. They will be married at the very classic Equinox Resort in Manchester.

Kristy + Jason

Spring is finally here in Vermont and Wednesday was the perfect day to photograph Kristy & Jason's engagement session out at Shelburne Farms!

I can't wait to photograph Kristy & Jason's wedding because they are so adorable, so giggly, so fun, and sooo in love!! They're getting married in June up at a gorgeous new spot called The Ponds at Bolton Valley Resort.

Sweethearts!!

Leah and Peter will be married in the city of Burlington this August, so they decided it would be nice to meet up at Shelburne Farms for their engagement session. I found them inside the visitor’s center doing a little wine tasting. We could have just hung out in that warm cozy place sipping wine all afternoon, but there were a couple horses and a sleigh waiting outside for us and many sweet moments to be captured, so we braved the elements.

Leah and Peter couldn’t be more adorable and can’t wait to photograph their wedding…when it is warm outside!

Love in Technicolor

On Monday I met Nicole and Luke at their home in East Fairfield, which is way up north in the country. The first attempt at their engagement session last week was postponed due to torrential downpours. Amazingly enough, the sun was shining this time! Hooray! One positive aspect of all of this rain is that everything is so green. It almost looks fake because the greens are so vivid.

So, Luke asked if I wouldn’t mind driving on a 4-wheeler to get to the spot they had in mind for photos. Of course, I’m always up for an adventure! I rode behind Nicole and we climbed to the top of a big hill behind the family’s farm house and the view was amazing! Turns out, this was the place that Luke proposed to Nicole. So romantic!!

A Day in Woodstock

On Memorial Day, our family drove down to Woodstock, Vermont to meet up with Lena and Micah (and her parents) from NYC for an engagement session. Woodstock is the quintessential Vermont town complete with covered bridges, historic homes and quaint little shops, so there was no shortage of great backdrops. Lena and Micah are an adorable couple and it is so obvious how crazy they are about each other! I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding later this summer in Southern Vermont at the Inn at Weathersfield!
